As many other bloggers have pointed out, freedom can mean so many different things. It can be used in a variety of contexts. And none of them seem to come with a negative connotation.
For myself, freedom is also many things. It’s being able to walk outside without feeling fearful. It’s choosing to wear whatever I feel like wearing that day, with no restrictions. It’s being able to share my political views both with my voice and on social media platforms without fear of reprisal. It’s having the ability to own my car and drive wherever I feel like going.
Freedom is having my health and the ability to accomplish whatever I want to. Freedom is driving anywhere I want across this beautiful country, knowing that if I should need medical attention somewhere along the way, I will not have to pay out of pocket. Freedom is choosing any job or career that I want, with nobody to impress or disappoint.
Freedom is eating what I want, when I want. Parenting my kids however I want. Wearing as much makeup as I want. Spending my money the way I want. Not making my bed if I don’t want.
