In all honesty I was never interested in dinosaurs. My grandparents lived in Drumheller, Alberta, which is the dinosaur capital of all of Canada. There are dinosaurs on every corner and a huge museum, built in the 80’s called the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology, which we visited several times as kids.
When my older three kids were small we did visit Drumheller several times, both when my grandparents were alive and again after they had passed away. My kids thought it was generally cool but they were not into dinosaurs.
Then Sid came along. The baby we didn’t know we needed. About a year ago he became completely fascinated and enamoured with everything dinosaur. And I finally learned a few things about dinosaurs. The plastic dinosaurs are everywhere in our house and backyard. Some are remote controlled and roar ridiculously loud.
We took him to the museum in Drumheller when he was two and not yet a dinosaur connoisseur so we will definitely be taking him back at some point now that he really appreciates a good dinosaur.
When Jurassic Quest made it’s way to Winnipeg in the spring we got tickets and made the eight hour drive each way to take him to that. It was honestly kind of lame but he sat on a dinosaur (ish) so it was all good.
To answer the prompt, of course I’d bring back a long neck of some kind. A herbivore. Those ones that are slow moving and don’t want to swallow me whole. Sid loves the Mosasaurus’ and the Raptors, (way too much Jurassic World).
