I’m kind of stumped as to where to begin with this idiotic prompt. It’s like asking where would your life be without potatoes. I mean if potatoes were never invented, then you wouldn’t even know you’re missing them.
Although I highly doubt that we could have ever evolved as humans without music. It’s something that would have to happen. Cavemen would undoubtedly tap out a rhythm with their clubs. It’s innate. I suppose potatoes are not.
On the flip side, if all of a sudden music was removed from the entire world, just unplugged and gone, that would be pretty traumatic. I guess I would listen to talk radio in my car on my way to work. My Apple music subscription would be just for podcasts?
When you’re trying to make a call and you’re placed on hold, no horrible elevator music played at such a high frequency it hurts your eardrum? How about this, instead of elevator music when you’re on hold, it’s a constant loop of comedians telling jokes. I would love that.
I’d really miss hearing Big in Japan in the grocery store. I guess grocery stores would just be silent. I could live with that.
What I couldn’t live without is singing in the car on long road trips. It’s what keeps me awake. By the time I get there my voice is hoarse. Just listening to podcasts and people talk for 7+ hours? No thanks. I’d probably prefer the silence but I don’t know how I’d stay awake.
And what happens at a wedding, in this case? A music-less wedding. Walk down the aisle to silence? Maybe someone reciting poetry? No first dance at the reception. Would there even be a reception if music is not a thing? Probably not, what’s the point. This could save a lot of dads a lot of money.
Would college kids go to bars? Would there even be a bar scene without music? A sit down/pub type of watering hole could work I guess. Again, I think people would be saving themselves a lot of cash.
I’m not saying I’m for it, I’m just saying I’d probably have more money.
