What are you most proud of in your life?

Of course, because I’m a mom I have to say I’m most proud of my four kids. I really don’t feel like I have that much ownership in how they turned out or are turning out.

I feel that they’re so individual and especially the two older ones, because they are adults, have become who they are by some trial and error.

They will testify to the fact that from the teenage years on, I kept the tether pretty long. Not that I wasn’t involved in their lives but I tried not to hover.

I’m not sure if that all sounds weird, but I don’t want to take the credit, is what I’m saying.

I love being their mom, it’s the best job on earth.

Off the topic of motherhood, I am proud of the fact that I’ve always been independent. I don’t and never have relied on anyone else ie. a man, to live my life. I’ve been called a man hater but I’m honestly not. I swear.

It’s just that I find it very important, for me, to not need anyone to be happy or successful. And I do feel that’s an important message for my kids, especially my girls.
