We just answered this prompt November 23, except it was plural, “what are your favorite animals?”
Lame.

I really don’t know what my favourite animal is today. I was always a cat person but then we got a Golden Retriever puppy four years ago and I became one of those weird dog people who treated the dog like an actual human baby.

Lately we’ve been trying to train her to stay off the couch and it’s not going well. She always had a spot at the end of the couch, on a blanket but now she takes up almost half the couch and I spend fifteen minutes each day vaccuming JUST where she lays. So I made the executive decision that she is no longer welcome on the couch.

The hair from a Golden Retriever is insane and I will never get a Golden Retriever again.

We love her to pieces but the hair she sheds everywhere is more than I can stand. I have enough housework to do without vaccuming just dog hair on a regular basis.

On the bright side, she is cute. She wouldn’t hurt a fly and she’s great with Sid and all kids. She does bark when people pull up in the driveway or come walking up the driveway although she barks louder at us than strangers, go figure.
