Tag you’re it

Thank you so much mygenxerlife for nominating me as one of the recipients of the Sunshine Blogger Award! I love reading the answers to other bloggers questions.

I also love reading mygenxerlife’s blog immensely, as he has this way of incorporating everyday life into different themes or ideas, plus music! Hopefully I’m not getting that backwards, maybe the music is the basis and then he writes around that. But for me, I’m always interested in what he’s talking about and the songs are a bonus.

These are the rules that go along with the nomination:

1) Display the award’s official logo somewhere on your blog ✅

2) Thank the person who nominated you ✅

3) Provide a link to your nominator’s blog ✅

4) Answer your nominator’s questions ✅

5) Nominate up to eleven bloggers ✅

6) Ask your nominees eleven questions ✅

7) Notify your nominees by commenting on their blogs✅

Here goes:

What inspired you to start blogging?

I was no longer writing for our newspaper (it had changed hands and honestly became a joke), and I needed an outlet and a platform to spew what I spew.

How did you meet your best friend?

The best friend I ever had I lost to my divorce. Besides that I have two other friends whom I would both consider best friends, and I met them through work at the hospital, we’re all nurses.

What is one thing on your bucket list?

I have to get overseas at some point: France or Switzerland or Austria or Scotland or Montenegro.

Which household chore do you love and which one do you hate?

Love cooking/baking, hate pretty much everything else 🙂

What are you most proud of?

Besides the obvious answer which is my kids, I’m honestly very proud to have this blog. Not that I advertise it or anything but it is a big deal to me. In my world, it’s not super common to be a blogger.

If you could be a master painter, writer or musician, which would you choose?

Easy one, most definitely a singer. I’ve always wished I could sing up on a stage.

Did you ever lose something that had personal value to you?

Was just discussing this with Cordelia yesterday, things I’ve left behind accidentally in hotel rooms: a really good pillow, a really expensive bathing suit and a necklace that had a pressed flower in the pendant that Clint’s oldest daughter had given me. So maddening. Each time I called the hotel as soon as I realized but nope, never found, (yeah right).

What was the best advice you ever received?

From my awe-inspiring Aunty Janice, “no problem is unsolvable”.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

I love the idea of having coffee on a deck that overlooks the ocean. So, anyplace I could have that.

Who is your hero?

Oooh tough one, never considered this before, if I had to pick someone it would be Terry Fox. With one leg already amputated because of cancer, in the early 80’s he made a decision to run across the whole country to spread awareness and raise money for cancer research. So selfless.

What are you looking forward to?

Looking forward to this eight million feet of snow melting and seeing green grass and hearing rain.

My nominees for the Sunshine Blogger Award are: (and sorry if you’ve already been nominated as I don’t follow that many people and I see lots of this happening right now, don’t feel pressured to redo it again!)

(Typical me, not reading instructions properly, didn’t need to list links, am supposed to notify the nominees right on their blogs in a comment!)

Questions for my nominees:

  1. Do you ever or have you ever swallowed your gum?
  2. Do you remember the first time you really felt like a grown up?
  3. When you use a public washroom do you line the toilet seat with the disposable paper they provide?
  4. Side sleeper, back sleeper or stomach sleeper?
  5. Do you like coffee and if not, have you really given it a fair chance?
  6. One breakfast everyday for the rest of your life, what is it?
  7. If you had to go on a twelve hour road trip where there are no gas stations to stop at to buy snacks and you can only pack one snack, what would that be?
  8. Do you take reusable shopping bags with you to the grocery store?
  9. What activity do you get so caught up in that you lose yourself in it and you have to consciously step away from?
  10. Do you remember how you felt when you learned there was no such thing as Santa/Easter Bunny?
  11. If you could spend the day or even just the afternoon on a platonic “date” with your first crush, would you?

I think that’s it! This was exhausting lol and took me way longer than it should have!

  1. Thank you CJ for the nomination! However, it’s something I did before some years ago, and really not that interested, though I appreciate you thinking of me. Can you find someone else for your eleventh nominee? Have a great day

  2. Im curious – why Montenegro? Nothing against it, but it’s a little “off the beaten path” of European travel.

  3. I want to answer your questions!
I’ll just say… re #2, I’m still waiting for that moment. Also, #1 – I really dislike gum, so wouldn’t remember since it’s been that long. #3 – Depends on where the public bathroom is. #4 – Stomach, which is the worst for face lines. I can’t stop it! #5 – YES. #6 – french toast. #7 – That’s hard! I’d probably buy peanut butter crackers of some sort. #8 – Yes, unless I forget, then I’ve gotten used to shoving a lot of things into the backpack I’m currently using as a purse. #9 – Cleaning. There’s just always the next thing that catches my eye to do. #10 – I remember finding out my mother was Santa and being so happy because it showed a lot of attention and care. #11 – Only if he begged forgiveness first and we spent the day going over all the ways he was a needless jerk. hahaha [Guess I answered them all! Do you think people should have to answer their own questions too?]
