If you’ve read any of my other posts, you’ll see that I have a tendency to make these small and simple subjects into big deals that read on and on and on. It’s just that I always have so much to say and I really relish my time on WP each morning, spilling what’s in my head. So I’m kind of bummed out that this morning’s response might actually be pretty quick and simple. I might have to write something original later if I have time.
One simple thing I do each day and have for years, which I thoroughly enjoy, is having a bubble bath at the end of my day. Right before I crawl into bed.
Sinking into that hot soapy water is such an amazing feeling and though I’ve done it for years, the simple joy of it never dissipates. It’s my “me time”. Right from the time when I first had kids, I was one of those moms who struggled with balancing taking care of their needs versus balancing mine. Taking twenty minutes each night to have a bath once the kids were all asleep was a huge benefit to me.
My oldest is twenty-three and I’m still doing this each night. It’s relaxing. I don’t spend a long time in the tub, I’m not one of those people who can lay there for an hour. Honestly, by the time the bath is full (I get in when it’s about half full because I’m impatient), I am ready to pull the plug and get out.
Being immersed in the comfort of the hot water is my little tiny red reset button. I don’t take a glass of wine with me, or even a book. Although maybe I should and I’d stay longer. But I do usually take my phone so I can continue any conversations I was having. I also like to use the time to scroll Pinterest, to pick out my think better/act better quotes I’ll be sending out in the morning to my subscribers on Snapchat.
It feels so good to be clean, from head to toe.
