Of late, that would be the delicious velvet lemon cake my younger daughter baked for my older daughter on Monday for her birthday. My son contributed by making the cream cheese butter icing. The cake was a hit, not just with the birthday girl, but with everyone. It’s my new favourite I think.
Probably the next runner up after that is pecan pie. During the winter, and in the height of my sugar addiction, I made pecan pie after pecan pie. And if it wasn’t pie, it was pecan tarts. So perfectly sweet.
On a daily basis my favourite snack/breakfast is vanilla flavoured Greek yogurt (the low sugar high protein brand) mixed with my homemade granola. I eat it every single day and each time I eat it, I am thinking to myself, ughhh this is the yummiest thing everrrrr. I’ve been eating it/making granola for probably six years now and it never gets old. Even before I gave up sugar, I used to say that if given a choice to eat yogurt and granola or a Mars bar, I’d choose the yogurt and granola easily everytime.
