Relieved to feel

Daily writing prompt
What positive emotion do you feel most often?

Wow, great question for someone who’s largely unfeeling and have been described (jokingly), as a psychopath. My older daughter is an empath but my younger daughter and myself are the opposite of empath, whatever that is, so it makes for some interesting conversations.

I’m going to have to dig deep here.

I might say relief is what I feel most often. I don’t know, I would probably answer differently if I already had both morning coffees in me. Still a bit groggy.

I feel relieved when the lights are turning green. When my toddler just climbs in his car seat without any monkey business. When I’m typing on my keyboard and no one is interrupting me. When the grocery store isn’t out of any of the ingredients I need to buy. When people laugh at my jokes. When I get up in the morning and the coffee is already made. When the workout is done.

I could probably go on but you get the gist.

  1. I get this. Relief is one of the first emotions I thought of. I love that feeling. 🙂 I can’t seem to write yet this morning, but we’ll see what it will be.

  3. Relief is an underrated positive emotion imo. I’d probably take that combination with several sprinkles of positivity over pure and straight out happiness every day. Mike

    1. Exactly, right? And happy’s overrated if you ask me. Who can walk around happy all day? Relieved I didn’t just hit an old lady crossing the street, that’s real.
