Bored easily

Daily writing prompt
What do you love about where you live?

As someone who gets bored easily, I like getting to experience all four seasons. Like fully, deeply and completely immersed in them.

Warm in spring when the snow is slowly, almost painfully so, disappearing.

Heat in summer, although it’s brief.

Then fall meanders in around this time of year. I mean technically it’s still summer but we can feel the difference. Getting chilly at night and daytime highs not climbing so much now. Soon the leaves will change and it’s very pretty.

Winter is incessant. It’s very cold. It’s very snowy. It seems to drag on forever. We always have snow by Halloween and the last bit of snow isn’t gone until usually the end of May.

But I like jumping through these seasons, keeps life interesting. One season forever strikes me like a 60 year monogamous marriage…borrring.

Then again I’ve never had either so what would I know.

  1. Our winters were as long as yours when I lived in northern NY but they were long enough for me to relate. There are a lot of memes about Florida seasons out there. Some trees lose their leaves but most don’t get very colorful when they do. I’d like to see a colorful fall. Maybe we will if we manage to do the life on the road thing a few years from now.

    1. Well I say it sounds boring to basically have summer all year round but mostly to make myself feel better that I don’t 😂

      1. We don’t have summer all year. It didn’t freeze here last winter but it got to 33F one morning!

  2. Another great photo. ❤

I'm sure I'd love living with more change of seasons, but not so sure I'd like driving in the snow. 🙂

  3. Between Singapore on the equator, or where you are ‘Somewhere Up There’, I’d pick your spot anyday. Not boring at all (not touching the the marriage thing either…?)

      3. Who knows, maybe I’ll fall in love with frostbite!

Maybe I could work in Santa’s factory up there somewhere?

      4. It’s a bit like Hotel California, once you get in you can’t get out!

  4. It is so nice to hear the different perspectives. This is great. Here in Missouri in the center of the USA, we experience all four seasons. From hot (about 90-95 degrees for middle summer) to cold (about 10-20 degrees in middle winter) and everything in between. I love our weather, except I do get really tired of dreary days in February and March and am always ready for spring. Life’s a blessing. I’d be bored with the same weather day and day out. When we drop below 0 or get above 100, then yep..it sure gets interesting to be sure. God bless you all. K.Kay
