Thanks for asking

Daily writing prompt
How are you feeling right now?

Geez I’m glad someone cared to ask this morning, even if it is an AI generated writing prompt. The day ahead of me is full. Fuller than I would like it to be anyway. I went from having zero commitments on a daily basis all summer, to having several today and I’m not sure how I’ll handle it. I’m kind of joking but kind of not.

Sid has an appointment with the Optometrist this morning first thing. And I know the Optometrist is going to ask how consistently Sid wears his glasses and if I’m going to be honest, he probably won’t like my answer. Anyway, he’s three. Cut us some slack please.

After I catch heck from the eye doctor I’ll go to work. Work in the actual College today and not from home as I have things to print off and photocopy. Classes start Tuesday.

Clint and I are going to go for lunch today to (sort of) mark our ten years together tomorrow. We’ve never gotten married, never will get married and have honestly never really marked the occasion of our “anniversary” once in the last ten years, besides saying to each other, “I think this is the day right?”

It’s the anniversary of the day he first messaged me, that’s our anniversary. I have said a few times to him in the last ten years, we should go out for supper, just the two of us…but it never comes to fruition.

In the last few weeks, I’ve started taking an hour for myself at lunch and have gone out for lunch with either a friend, some coworkers or one of my daughters, while Sid’s at daycare. I absolutely love it. It makes me feel so individual and so free. But this week, the friend who I usually go with wasn’t available so I mentioned to Clint that possibly he could fill in the spot and it would also serve as marking our decade together. We really can’t do it tomorrow, on the actual anniversary because I work in the morning, have a meeting over lunch on Zoom and then the kids and I are leaving for Winnipeg for the long weekend.

After the lunch date today I’ll go back to work and try to make sure I’m fully prepared for Tuesday.

I have my older daughter Bella-Lena’s friends coming over for supper tonight as some of them, including her, are moving back to the city for Uni this weekend.

And somewhere in the midst of preparing chicken tacos, I have my first hour long class on Zoom from five to six, for the Teaching for Learning course that I am currently a student of.

After that it will be time to bath Sid and get him to bed, then do the dishes and clean up kitchen…I’d really like to get out for a walk as well, get some exercise.

I feel stressed.

This is all I want to do today, yoga and hang with Sid.

    1. You’re right, it is all enjoyable and I need to keep that in mind and just be grateful for everything and everyone in my life. You’re absolutely right, thanks for saying that and snapping me out of it lol. Sometimes I make the biggest deal over nothing.

  4. Certainly a busy day!! Wishing you a great year ahead.

Andrew will be three in October and has glasses. It’s a fight to get him to wear them, too. I take the moments where he puts them on and am happy, but they are off more than they are on.

Yes it’s hard for little ones to keep glasses on and I don’t blame them lol….actually got a good report from Optometrist though, his eyesight has significantly improved, so I’m so happy!

  7. I just ran across your blog, loved it and subscribed! 🙂 On the plus side, if it makes you feel better – I’d love to have legs like yours! LOL. Seriously though, parenting is stressful and hard. I have kids, and many days are wild as we run through our days and get appointments in, homework, dinner, etc. and still try to make time for myself. It is so important to take care of you though and make sure you are getting in that time for yourself. ❤ Sounds like you're doing a great job.
