And the award goes to…exercise!!
Nothing on earth puts a pep in my step like working out. But this has to be on a continual basis. And then I get continual benefits. If I just workout once, one time, after sitting like a bump on a log for the past two months, then nope, no energy from it.
But if I get into a good routine where I’m working out daily, I have an easier time getting out of bed in the morning. I have more energy throughout the day and I require fewer naps.
It’s really the main reason I do workout. I dislike that sluggish feeling, that persistent laziness that comes with, well, being lazy. All week I’ve been doing some yoga in the morning, before coffee number two even, and then going for a brisk thirty minute walk in the evening. Today I’m going to pick up weights though because it’s been a while.
Coffee is my lifeline and it’s really more of a necessity or an addiction than an energy boost. I need coffee first thing in the morning and I don’t speak until I’ve had at least a few slurps. Once I’ve got that caffeine in my blood, I begin to wake up. But I don’t really feel it’s an energy boost per se. (As evidenced by, I have a cup of coffee every night before bed.) And the reason I do that is really two things: if I don’t have it, I wake up with a wicked caffeine withdrawal headache and also I just crave it, as soon as supper is over, I’m jonesin’ for coffee.
