Scrambled eggs

Daily writing prompt
Who are your favorite artists?

I don’t know anything about art and we’ve talked music to death I feel.

I’ve always loved Norman Rockwell, even as a teenager. And I went through a crazy obsession with Anne Geddes in the 90’s. Was so happy to have just recently picked up three Anne Geddes framed pictures at the thrift store for my bedroom.

I can’t get over the needlepoint or cross-stitch pieces I buy from secondhand stores. These are the artists I adore. The time and the patience that went into making them. It blows my mind.

I did start cross-stitching back when I worked on Psychiatry because night shift was usually pretty quiet. Naturally it was a piece that said “bloom where you’re planted”, what else right? But it’s still unfinished, 18 years later.

Happy Monday everyone!

From an antique store in Kimberly, BC

This lady is so talented, I’ve bought probably six pieces from her
Another amazing needlepoint from a thrift store
The three little Anne Geddes I just acquired, uggghhh when I think of all the Anne Geddes pictures I got rid of over the years I could cry
My oldest child Bella-Lena painted this, she’s super talented, didn’t get it from me
again, thrifted and I absolutely love this!!
Wanted a souvenir from our trip to Tofino, BC….very different than what I usually gravitate to but I gravitated to it nonetheless

  2. Ooh, proper thrift stores! This was something I enjoyed when on the west coast, so many treasures! I found this pile of old post cards and one of them was so passive-aggressive, a friend reaching out to another friend they hadn’t heard from in a while. It was both sad and hilarious somehow, to read the thinly veiled guilt trip.
