I’d give some away to my chequing account, some to my savings account.
Okay seriously I guess I’d divvy it up. I would give a portion of it to kids who are living in poverty. I’m not sure how it would work exactly. But I would want the kids in the community Sid’s from, to benefit from it.
It’s a remote place, further north than here. There are no roads to drive to it, it’s in the middle of the bush. You can only fly in to it, or in winter there is an ice road. The community is plagued by addictions, overcrowding and just poverty in general.
I already started a charity to try and provide brand new, brand name shoes to the kids in the school there, so I’m not sure if it would be considered a conflict to donate to my own charity.
But Shamattawa would definitely be on my list of places to help.
I would probably visit our local FB group called Helping One Another, find some parents who are struggling, and help them out. It’s a page where people who are in need of food items or pretty much anything, can post requesting assistance.
It breaks my heart when I see moms post there asking for food items to feed their children. I’ve answered the call several times and it always feels good to give.
I’d like to think that I’d give some cash to my parents or sisters but honestly they don’t need it. Not that they are wealthy by any means. My parents live very simply and are very frugal.
My sisters were smart with their money right off the hop and although they don’t live in big fancy houses, they have food in the fridge and comfy warm beds to sleep in.
I might just buy them some plane tickets to take a vacation. Well not my younger sister, she wouldn’t go anyway. She’s a homebody. I could buy her a new car or a new tractor or a couple of cows or something.
If I could keep some of the money, I’d buy a huge house and quit my job, stay at home and just be a foster mom to as many kids and babies as I could properly care for. I’d give them endless love and hugs and kisses and good food and nice clothes. Clint would probably be out cause that’s not his jam but I guess that’s his decision.
