Damsel in distress

Daily writing prompt
What’s something you believe everyone should know.

If you are a driver, you should have some idea of how to change a flat tire, or at least make it look like you know what you’re doing until a generous passerby stops to save you.

Unless you’re vegan, everyone should know how to cook eggs. They are quick, delicious, nutritious, versatile and economical.

When you’re a teenager and even into your twenties, although some moments are very high on the fun scale, they can also be difficult. Life does get better and make more sense as you get older. It’s very fulfilling to find yourself and know yourself, a trade off for less fun.

The homeless people and addicts you see living on the streets or in shelters were once somebody’s beautiful babies and adorable children. Change is possible and these miracles do happen. I learned this by reading Jesse Thistle’s biography “From the Ashes”. He’d had a troubled childhood and quickly became an addict and a street person but he’s now a thriving and successful university professor, author, father and husband.

And lastly, in the words of my beautiful and wise Aunty Janice, no problem is unsolvable.

  1. always welcome words from your Aunty Janice.

fulfilling is the absolute right word for finding and knowing yourself. I always think that the best road trip a person can take is the one through their memories and experiences with the goal of understanding their reactions to them!

have a great Wednesday CJ! Mike
