Sucker

Daily writing prompt
What are your favorite websites?

Lately I seem to be getting sucked in by these ads on Instagram. I am a sucker. I’m still waiting on my lamp that, because the place was called Misterlamp Toronto, I assumed the lamp was coming from Toronto but no, three weeks later and it’s not even here yet.

Now I have my eye on these motorcycle boots from a company called Frye boots and they are expensive but they keep coming up in my feed and well, I’m a sucker. I add to cart and delete and then re-add to cart. UGGHHH.

I love Instagram for the reels but up until a few weeks ago I honestly despised watching any type of video, I wanted to read what I am seeing, not watch. But these clips of stand-up comedians are ridiculously entertaining.

I just saw one this week where the guy talked about how life is so short and we need to just laugh more and not take things so damn seriously. So this week I’ve been laughing at these reels any chance I get.

Besides that, I love Etsy. Real people making real products. So cute. It’s global and you can find second hand and antique items there so it’s like a virtual garage sale.

I hate myself for using Facebook. If it weren’t for my charity page, I would delete it but I have to keep it around for that and I do enjoy the free advertising it allows me.

Of course I love WordPress the most. I also spend a lot of time on Pinterest. I check the weather on The Weather Network sixteen times a day. It’s the farmer in me I guess.

I use Amazon sparingly only because personally I feel that Amazon is to small businesses, what Walmart once was to the corner stores. Having been a business owner myself previously, I try and support other small businesses and shop local when I can.

  1. One of my big goals right now is to stop resorting to Amazon whenever possible. Happy not to have to do FB, but charity is worth it. 🙂 Love Etsy too.

    1. Yeah I don’t mind ordering from Amazon if it’s one of the staples that I would buy from Walmart anyway but I don’t want to become too dependent on it for absolutely everything.

      1. Nodding. The more people default to Amazon, it changes what is available in stores as well.

      1. I start to get sucked into those personality tests… you know apps that will tell you what kind of diva, witch, or goddess you are. 😂 A few questions in I come to my senses!

      3. No don’t! Let’s not give all of our personal info and secrets to an app owned by who-knows-who. 😬😂

  3. It’s nice to be exposed to products from smaller companies that might not have the throughput of larger entities.
