I like the idea of spring and new growth. Everything dead comes back to life. But up here spring lingers a bit too long. It’s almost anti-climactic. March, April and May are all spring months. The snow doesn’t completely disappear until June. It drags on, teases us.
So I guess I like July and December because they are the months when there’s no in between.
In July we’re right in the thick of summer, it’s hot and everything is green. There’s no denying it’s summer.
In December we’re undeniably experiencing winter. The snow is deep. It’s cold. Christmas happens in December and also my birthday.
What I like about January is the idea of new beginnings or a clean slate but it drags on too long and it’s too cold.
February is lame, the month of love. Not my jam.
November to me always felt like the Wednesday of the year. And nobody likes a Wednesday.
