Flavour of the week

Daily writing prompt
Who are your current most favorite people?

This question makes me laugh. The “current” part. Like what are you currently listening to? (but make it people.)

The common denominator seems to be our families and our co-WP’ers. And I absolutely 110% concur.

But the question takes me back to high school when my best friend Jennifer and I had this way to amuse ourselves called the “flavour of the week”.

The flavour of the week was a guy we picked out for certain qualities he possessed and we then proceeded to obsess over him each and every day, for that week.

The flavours of the week were all completely different. One week it might be a sturdy jock-type of guy who looked great from head to toe, although honestly jocks were our least favourite. The next week we’d find someone’s cheek bones ultra appealing and no matter what the rest of him looked like, he would be the best looking man alive, for that week.

It went on and on like this. Angsty guy with a perma-frown and trench coat…flavour of the week. Skater guy with silky long locks and oozing charisma yet also a bad ass…flavour of the week. Super strict religious kid with blonde hair and piercing blue eyes who we never actually spoke to but imagined all kinds of wonderful qualities and shared Biology class with…flavour of the week. You get the point.

We may have had “types” but these flavours of the week were rarely our types, they could absolutely anyone but once the week was up, they were history.

Maybe this was a precursor to me getting bored so easily with people. Hehe.

If, in real adult life, we could have a flavour of the week, this prompt would make perfect sense.

    1. Thanks Mike! We have a snowblower so we mostly clear the snow ourselves but usually a couple times a winter we’ll hire someone with a bobcat to scrape it right down to the cement so that it’s clean clean!

      1. nice! those snowblowers really come in handy. they were my saving grace when i was up in the mountains. but even now, I think it may be a good idea to have a small unit around in case new jersey gets heavy snow this year.

hope your Sunday is going well so far!
