How foolish

Daily writing prompt
Do you spend more time thinking about the future or the past? Why?

The past wins, hands down. Thinking of the future, beyond worrying about it, is not a place I go very often. I should do it more.

Rehashing the past, ruminating about what’s already happened, what I said, what I did, is my forte. But I come by it honestly, my Dad’s a pro at it and taught me well.

I’m trying to get better at letting this stuff go and recognizing it is the first step.

How foolish it is to let something that’s over and done with, take up space in your brain and keep revisiting it. How foolish.

The present is a good place to be and I need to continuously remind myself of that.

On the flip side, I think that if I spent more time thinking or imagining the future, that could be a good thing. Planning. Setting goals. That’s something I suck at. I’ve never been a planner. I’m a fly by the seat of my pants kinda gal, in the words of Pretty Woman (it was something like that).

“Bloom where you’re planted”, this was my excuse for not working out yesterday, I spent some time hanging these pictures on the last empty wall in the house, my daughter Bella-Lena bought me the Life magazine for Christmas, it’s in pristine condition

      5. No CJ, i’m sorry ok but no! πŸ˜‚

i was looking at Thompson temps. i DON’T believe it. It’s FAKE NEWS πŸ˜‚, y’all are really just at +5,+10 – trying to make the rest of us look spoiled and comfortable LOL

i will go to Thompson and VERIFY this myself πŸ˜‚ until then, it’s fake news! canada just has a deal with weather companies to make it look like its cold so ppl don’t move there and ruin the forestry and water supply. i am willing to die on this hill πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Mike

  2. I agree about thinking about the past, present, and future. I’m thinking of now and ahead (-minus all that scary 😱 stuff). Beautiful pictures! The wall picture layout- interesting & lovely heirloom pieces πŸ‘πŸ»

  3. Hehe, yes exactly, ruminating on the past doesn’t seem to get us anywhere, but I suppose all we’re trying to do is predict the future!
