Grapes galore

Daily writing prompt
What would you do if you won the lottery?

I was thinking holy moly we JUST answered this prompt a few days ago, but no, that was the “dream job” prompt. My answers are pretty similar though.

Oh maybe I’d add Lasik surgery to the list of things to do with my windfall, so I didn’t have to wear glasses again

Would millions help me turn back time and become a reporter/journalist, eventually finding my face on the six o’clock news? Perhaps. Or it might allow me to still do it now, in the form of a facelift to deduct fifteen years from the face I have now.

The more realistic goal (and less self-centred), would be to buy that humongous home and take in as many babies and kids from the foster care system that I possibly could. And show them real love.

Moving away to a tropical island would be a dream but I’d rather stay and help kids here, where I live. I’d have enough money to take all of my kids on amazing vacations to tropical islands though and that’s even more fun than going alone.

I could buy grapes and berries without wincing in the checkout.

Steak at least once a week, chewing carefully and thoughtfully, and ensuring the kids all did the same, Rojie.

And I’d pad the account of my charity and not only try to supply brand new, brand name running shoes for the kids from Sid’s community, I’d supply them with all kinds of amazing things, both material and otherwise. Their plumbing would all work perfectly, the homes insulated to the highest standards and they’d never be under a boil water advisory again.

  1. How noble of you. What if the lottery you won was only a few thousand though?

    1. Oooh I don’t know…I’d have to think about that…I’d probably reach out to someone in need and help on a smaller scale.

  2. damn i didn’t think it was like that in Sid’s community. how many native communities does Manitoba have? would it be logistically (location-wise) tough to truck a tanker in with freshwater?

    1. I had to look it up, there are 63 in total but 17 are not accessible year round by road, one of those being Shamattawa where Sid is from…and because of this, it makes for all kinds of logistical problems.

I am so out of touch with reality sometimes that I didn’t know grapes were expensive. Good thing you said it.

    1. Lol sounds perfect 👍🏼
I am bad for not paying attention too sometimes, I think I just don’t wanna know the prices of things but I do know I have paid $15 for less than a week’s worth of grapes!

  4. I won the lottery once. I think it paid like $11 dollars or something, division 6. Didn’t make much difference to me but I had to go back to collect my money and just put it on the next one which lost. So winning the lottery made me go to the lottery store again. 😐
