I think that when you’re young, well, you’re foolish.

You think that life lasts forever and you’ll stay young eternally. You think it’s going to be eons before you turn into one of those old people, like your parents.
You’re full of ego. Possibly judgmental. I know I was.
You carry hopes and ridiculous dreams in your head. You won’t settle for anything less than fabulous.
But all of the paths that life takes us down, they change us. The experiences change us, the people we get tangled up with change us. Sometimes for the worse, sometimes for the better.
I’m sure I’m not alone when I say that I’ve done things I swore I’d never do. Sometimes because I’ve had to, other times because I wanted to. At times I still am.
Going through adversity really does make you a better person, I firmly believe that. And funnier.
Forty-eight years on this earth has taught be to be more open minded and to shut my mouth more often, I used to think I needed to say everything I wanted to say. But now I behave better, I think.
