Coffee’s akin to oxygen as in it’s an absolute necessity but I’m not one of those people who drinks it all day long. Two cups, black and strong, to start my day and definitely one more at bedtime, with a flavoured creamer.
People say how can you drink coffee at bedtime? Doesn’t it keep you up? Listen, this isn’t amateur hour. I NEED coffee to bookend my days.
If I don’t have my bedtime coffee I wake up with an awful caffeine withdrawal headache. And yes that’s an actual thing. And no it doesn’t keep me from sleeping at night. I fall asleep in 2.5 seconds most nights.
Some days I drink a coffee in the afternoon as well, as a pick me up.
Other than that, it’s water water water for me. Luckily I was never into juice, can’t stand it. Unless it’s fake juice in the form of Tang or Kool-Aid but I almost never drink that anymore and haven’t in years.
If I’m being a rebel and not caring about sugar intake, I love iced tea! Especially with a meal at a restaurant. If I am thinking of the sugar, then it’s a Diet Coke.
I like carbonated water such as San Pellegrino or Bubly. That’s my “it’s five o’clock somewhere” beverage of choice.
Back in the day when I did drink alcohol, I enjoyed crantini’s, lemon gin and 7-up, rye and coke or a Coors Lite.
