What Olympic sports do you enjoy watching the most?

I’m not an avid fan of the Olympics to be honest. But what comes to mind are the racing types of events: luge, bobsled and some of the downhill skiing events.

I used to enjoy the patriotism that the Olympics brought with it, but lately it seems life is a neverending series of showing just how patriotic you are.

When Covid was a thing, we had to rally behind that and work together as one.

Sid’s expression mirrored my mood today lol, long day of traveling

Now it’s the tariff/elbows up agenda that’s forefront in our daily lives and I’m honestly sick of it all.

I miss when the world used to just gel.

    I miss having Obama in office years ago: the world seemed more together back then. I had a friend by email in Scotland, a very nice person with a lot of knowledge of her culture, very into The Beatles, etc. She told me once that Bela Fleck and the Flecktones played at the Links Market in Kirkcaldy, which I thought was so very cool! Edinburgh must be an awesome place as well. And as for Victoria BC, I’ve been there twice. I was very young, in junior high school. Beautiful place. My mother bought a teapot at a gift shop at our hotel. She really liked Eatons, etc. We didn’t go to Chinatown; possibly we didn’t know it existed! Up the street from our hotel was a restaurant with a huge cauldron behind glass for cooking steaks. Btw, are you much of a Rush fan? I remember when Geddy Lee sang the anthem at the World Series for the Toronto Bluejays: he nailed it, sang it very conservatively and straight.

      I agree about the Obama thing Rob! So true!
      Ummm Rush, no not really…I’m sure I know some of their songs but I think it might’ve been a bit before my time…or maybe not idk 🤷🏻‍♀️

    I live just outside of Detroit, so I’m able to pick up Windsor’s CBC affiliate where I live.

    I got sick to death of NBC’s Olympic coverage about 20 years ago. The only events they ever show on network TV are the ones where the US won medals. So I started watching CBC’s coverage to get a better perspective.
