What’s the oldest things you’re wearing today?
I mean I only just crawled out of bed half an hour ago so we don’t have a lot to work with here.
I guess the jade ring on my left hand, fourth finger (where some might wear a wedding band), is the oldest item on me. It was my Mom’s and I believe she received it as a teenager so it’s probably sixty-ish years old.
In other news, they’ve changed the forecast and we are NOT going to get snow today. Thank the lord. We did get some much needed rain yesterday…cold, cold rain and currently the temp is -1 Celsius but it’s supposed to get up to plus 5.
It’s a long weekend in Canada, “May long” as it’s referred to in slang but actually Victoria Day is the holiday Monday. I’m not sure if it’s a long weekend in other places.
Really, the only thing I’m up to this weekend is Sid’s “gotcha day” party on Sunday.
We always celebrate the day he came into our lives with a party that parallels a birthday party: guests, food, decorations, cake, presents etc to mark this day. May 20 will mark three years that he’s been the sunshine in our lives. I’ll most likely write more about it on the day.
