Horrormones

Daily writing prompt
List three books that have had an impact on you. Why?

Impacted in a bad or sad way, that was the book ‘A Child Called It’ by Dave Pelzer. It’s a true story of a boy who was abused and neglected for years by his own mother.

I picked this book up right after I had my first baby and I think it was something to do with being a first time mom and my hormones crashing, that caused it to create such a ripple in my emotions. It stayed with me for a long time, I guess almost twenty-four years to be exact.

More recently I really fell in love with, and it’s a tie between these two: ‘The Glass Castle’ by Jeannette Walls and ‘Educated’ by Tara Westover. Both feature these women who overcame massive and very unfair hurdles throughout their childhoods. And that’s really minimizing it.

Lastly, of course I have to mention ‘Think Like a Monk’ by Jay Shetty. I know I’ve sung the praises of this book time and again, but it really did make a big impact on my life. In a good way.

    1. Mike you’re probably already enlightened enough that it won’t make that big an impact on you…for me it was like crawling out from under a rock.
Yes and we need rain! The fire that caused this crazy scene was contained, thank god.
