Pantyhose are a vibe?

Daily writing prompt
If you were forced to wear one outfit over and over again, what would it be?

My uniform is/are dresses. I fell off of wearing pants a couple of years ago and geez it’s hard to go back. Pants have a waistband. Waistbands dig into all the adipose tissue. They’re not nice to me.

Dresses allow your body to be free. Plus they’re pretty and they’re feminine. After spending much of my younger years feeling, well, unattractive, it’s good to feel good.

I realize dresses are not for everyone and that’s totally cool. My younger sister is not a dress person and never has been and she still looks great.

I think for me, it’s the whole 1950’s housewife vibe a little bit. Not that I’d want to be a stay at home, bake pies and casseroles and have my man’s slippers waiting at the door kind of person, okay wait, maybe I kind of do.

I think we all see parts of the generation before us having experienced really cool things and the clothing and cars of the 50’s and 60’s is something I would have loved.

Also, I like to be different. Yes I can admit that. Because not a lot of women wear dresses where I live, I like being the one who does. Summer or winter. Pantyhose are a vibe. It’s just really difficult to find ones that don’t rip AND stay up. I’m a bit of a pantyhose connoisseur if you will.

  2. Yup… mid-century style, clothes, cars and even that simpler single-family income lifestyle does have an appeal.

  3. I love dresses too!! But I work in a lab at an engineering company and it’s just way too dirty and cold, so I only really only wear them on Sundays 😦 gotta get another job and a lifestyle change ugh!

  5. Yes, do and wear what makes you feel good! I have only worn pantyhose once when I was a kid in a school play dressed up a witch, so, really, a bit hard to relate but I understand your issues with dresses and the weather up there! 🙂

  6. I’m here to praise the hat as well. 🙂 When I used to go clubs, I’d wear a tux style jacket and only once in a blue moon did I find myself a proper hat. I used to love dresses, too, but the same issue you have with pants, I have with dresses. They just don’t seem to flow on my um, mature body, quite as well.

    1. Well it helps when the dresses gravitate more towards mumus Stephanie 😂
Maybe you need to try a Mrs Roper style of dress like I’ve been wearing 😩

  8. Could the picture be : an all women performance of something about Lincoln? Looks like a camp, church, or club performance.

    1. Could be, I have no idea but I’m doubting Lincoln as we live in Canada 🤷🏻‍♀️
