Four of a million

Daily writing prompt
What bothers you and why?

Hotel mirrors – they don’t lie. And apparently my mirror at home in my bathroom is a pathological liar. I had no idea the outer edge of my eyebrows are fatter than the inside…and it should be the opposite.

Other drivers – especially those that are too scared to speed on their own so they ride your coattails for the better part of an hour, I believe, thinking that if you meet up with the police it will be the car in front (me) who gets the ticket.

People who think pets > babies/kids – yesterday we were waiting for the elevator at the hotel and when the door opened a couple got off and said “hi baby” and smiled, at our DOG, not Sid! They completely ignored Sid and only paid attention to Remi, our Golden Retriever. I complained to Cordelia about it and she rolled her eyes and told me to get a life.

Racism – in this day and age, like come on, be better. All staff, especially in jobs who work with the public should have training on this.

  2. That’s an interesting thought about other drivers. That never crossed my mind. I’m going to have to chew on that for awhile.

    1. Yeah idk if it happens in urban centres but it definitely happens here, i had one tailing me on the way to Winnipeg for a bit and again on the way back. But here you can drive for 4 hours and not even go through a town or see a gas station. You can drive for 15 minutes and not even meet another car. But the RCMP do patrol, i’ve had 2 speeding tickets in last 10 years.

      1. 4 hours between towns… I imagine the area is full of clear skies and clean air! Something we don’t get over here. Watch out for the police! Tickets are no fun!

  3. Awful that you still have to be so on edge with these fires.

Aw, sorry the pet parents snubbed Sid! How sad for them that they missed a greeting with such a wonderful child! ❤

    1. Yes fingers crossed it ends soon, it just won’t rain! Even when they forecast it, it doesn’t happen.
      Thanks Stephanie ☺️

      1. Makes rain dances and rituals so understandable! Appeasing of sun gods, etc.

  4. Good points, CJ. The mirror part made me laugh. I often take a closer look in the mirror and wonder, who is that? Where is that girl I used to see?
