If I won two free plane tickets, I’d call up my friend Bridgette and say where we goin’? I might feel guilty for a second, for not taking one of the kids but at the same time I’d love to go on a grown ass woman trip for once in my life.
Bridgette was my roommate in college and I’d never set eyes on her until our first day in class. It was one of those friendships where it only took seconds to realize how much we had in common and hours to know the bond could never be broken.
It’s the kind of friendship where months and, (during Covid), years can pass and then when we finally see each other again, nothing’s changed.
She and I were actually planning a grown ass woman trip and then Covid stopped it. When Covid was leaving the picture, Sid showed up in the picture and so our trip is once again postponed.
It wouldn’t matter to me where we go, she can pick, I’m happy to go anywhere. Absolutely anywhere.
Sidenote: my daughter Cordelia bumped into one of her sons at a music festival this summer and though they hadn’t seen each other in probably ten years and are now all grown up, they recognized each other and hung out a bit. So cute.
