It’s no secret that everything on earth is so expensive right now. I used to be of the mindset where I’d talk myself into ordering out or going out to eat because it was nearly the same price as shopping for the food, plus when you take into consideration I wouldn’t have to cook it or do the kitchen clean-up afterwards, I felt it was well worth the couple of dollars extra to eat out.
But these days, dining out is probably quite a bit pricier than buying groceries and cooking a meal. So it’s harder to justify doing.
Last week, Clint was away fishing, for nearly six days. The kids know that when he’s gone, I don’t cook. They love it. So we order in or we go out, every single day.
It got really expensive! And these were not fine dining experiences. After the third day I said okay, I am not spending $100 on supper again tonight, it’s crazy. So we went to the store instead and spent $140 on stuff to make and have picky bits.
Honestly, I’d take picky bits over eating out any day of the week. Especially here in Thompson, our choices for dining out are very, very limited. If I was in the city it would be a different story.
