Bumps in the road

Daily writing prompt
What change, big or small, would you like your blog to make in the world?

My blog is not meant to bring about any change in the world. It’s meant to bring a chuckle, if I’m lucky.

Some relatability perhaps. Someone who’s reading who goes ohhh yeah, me too.

If I’m being honest, I mostly write for myself. Like many other bloggers, it’s an outlet. I’m not a guru of anything.

Beginning tomorrow I’ll be writing sporadically as I’ll be travelling. Got the news yesterday that yet another cousin has passed away unexpectedly, the younger brother of the cousin who died at the end of June.

Just imagine, there he was, giving the eulogy of his older brother at his funeral service at the end of June and now he’s the one who will be eulogized.

Life is crazy in bad ways sometimes.

So I need to go be with my Aunty Janice for a few days and do anything I can to ease her pain. It’s too much to lose two kids in a span of six weeks, I can’t even imagine the shock and disbelief.

Just Cordelia and I are going and selfishly I’m so bummed about leaving Sid at home with Daddy. I know he’s in good hands. It’s just that I’ve only left him once before, like ever, and it was only for a night. I’m going to miss him terribly.

I’m in the red sweater by the Fred Flintstone punchbag thingy, ? my birthday, not sure
Lotsa driving in my future

damn CJ, i’m sorry to hear and I’m really sorry for your aunt Janice. that’s just an indescribable loss. :/ travel safe.

also, i do want to say that I believe the trend in WP – and in social media as a whole – is moving towards relatability. you do a very good job of that and I seek to find more bloggers like you (and I want to offer the same)

  6. Sid will be okay for a few days, and maybe have more fun than on that long long drive. It looks like a little jaunt on the map, until you see the hours. Good that you’re going, how awful. I’m sorry.

  7. I’m sorry to hear the news. That’s too much for a mother to bear. Parents shouldn’t outlive their kids….

  8. Like you, I write for myself. I feel like if anyone is able to gain any nugget of wisdom from something I write, that’s just all the better.
