What profession do you admire most and why?
Of course I have to say farming. I was raised by a farmer, grew up on a farm and helped out on the farm from a very young age.
It’s not just the hard, thankless work. It’s the fact that you are walking a tightrope and your balance is completely out of your hands. You’re at the mercy of the weather. Also bugs.
Which, obviously, you can’t control.

I once worked with a client that grew up harvesting onions. He was a VP in corporate America, but his eyes lit up telling us stories about working on a farm. On a hot day, he said he’d take a break, pull up an onion from the ground and eat just like an apple. His eyes had a lot more life talking about his days working on a farm than working in finance, that’s for sure.
