Back in time

Daily writing prompt
What TV shows did you watch as a kid?

Does anyone remember having to pump the gas pedal two or three times before starting the car? Or if you flooded it, you held the gas pedal to the floor and then turned the key?

Remember the key itself used to be a simple metal key. An unassuming plain jane key. GM products had a square key for the ignition and a round one for the doors.

You used to just float down the highway in those big old cars. And they had such plush, comfy seats. Plenty of room.

But I digress.

Favourite shows as a kid. That’s easy. The Cosby Show. Family Ties. In my teenage years The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Law & Order, Roseanne.

I loved watching daytime talk shows with Mom too. Sally Jessy Raphael. Oprah of course. Donahue. Eventually Dr. Phil.

I swear, part of my brain never matured, I find this so hilarious

  4. I totally remember needing two keys! My dad would start the car and lock it in the winter. He’d keep the door key with him. My first car was a 79 Caprice Classic and I had two keys for that. I remember pumping the gas pedal, too. Snoop picture is hilarious!

A button on the floor to dim the headlights and a lever on the steering column for engine spark advance.

  6. Best to safeguard that part of your brain. πŸ˜„πŸ‘πŸ» My first car was a VW Rabbit, a manual POS that would sometimes only run if I held the key. Hard to do that and shift gears. 🀣 🐰
