My goal for 2026, as far as WP is concerned, will be to write more often without prompts.

We’ll see how that goes. I’ve never minded giving up so I may not stick to it.

I am cooking our big Christmas dinner today instead of on Christmas Day. I started this tradition a couple of years ago when the kids were leaving Christmas Day to travel down south with their dad to be with their grandparents.

I felt like it was better. It makes Christmas Day more relaxing.

Of course today I have some last minute items I need from the grocery store so I’m sending Taz to get them soon.

Sid was excited to find that his elf on the shelf left him an early Christmas gift as it’s the last night he visits until December 2026.

I probably won’t write tomorrow, I’ll be eating and surviving family.

    Your Christmas tree is beautiful! And all those gifts! Looking at it I kept wondering which box I’d go for first and I keep thinking that really big one on the right. But then good things come in small packages so… Decisions! Have fun cooking and an enjoyable meal and I look forward to reading your non-WP prompt posts.

    Love your post, although personally I feel like I write better on my own than with prompts. Your last sentence on the holidays hopefully being whatever we want it to be struck home.     This year its me and my hubby. We went to get our traditional prime rib roast…on sale…we saved a dollar short of 300.00 on our prime rib but…. we will cut the ribs off save them for later, cut the roast into 1 inch steaks and freeze. We wusually share 1 steak. Sometimes if someone comes over it’s a 3 way split. It’s still a nice steak. This roast will last until the next year when another sale comes up.
    Talking about tradition… I got sick about 20 years ago at christmas,my hubby said he’d cook… he started the prime rib tradition. We would have baked potatoes, green beans or green bean casserole, stuffing, rolls and a nice crisp green salad… cranberries. My husband does this every Christmas. Our kid’s loved it, and he can cook a great Christmas dinner. My gift… relax on Christmas. So anyway we decided to get comfy and watch Christmas movies. All the old ones and some new Hallmark ones, lol.
