or get off the pot

Daily writing prompt
What bores you?

Self-pity bores me. I understand that life throws some curve balls, I’ve been there, but grumbling about it isn’t going to help. Get up and fix it or change it.

Complaining about things out of our control like paying taxes bores me. Or when people grumble about petty issues like potholes in the roads. Just be patient, the potholes will be filled. Be happy and grateful they’ll ever be filled at all.

Romance novels bore me. They’re fake and I cannot appreciate living in a dream world.

Watching certain sports on tv like baseball or curling is super boring. Watching poker on tv is the absolute worst.

To be honest, many of these writing prompts bore me. But I guess each to their own. One person’s idea of something interesting is the next person’s snooze fest. I’m not saying I could do any better, but I’m sure many could.

  1. Self-pity turns into aggreivment and then victimhood. Self-pity is part of healing mentally understanding “yes. Ive been wronged”, but a person has to also understand that scapegoating, using the “all ….” argument is also wrong.
We are living in an era of “aggrieved victimhood”, everyone points the finger to blame others for their own decsions and choices, MAGA being a good example, but the left is no stranger to this either, one could say the left trailblazed “aggreivment” decades ago.
Anyway, personally you are 100% correct.

  3. What’s going on with the Canadians and curling!?! A bit ‘over-enthusiastic’ maybe, but the drama is good though 🙂

      1. haha, are you joking? The Canadians cheating in the Curling, both the men and the women? Maybe they’re supressing it in your media, but it was all over ours!

      2. Lol I’ll have to google it! I don’t watch the news and anything curling related would not be a part of any of my social media algorithms lol

  4. I really got into watching curling last time around, but this time I can’t sit still. Sort of bummed about that. Guess I went through some kind of psychological change. hehe

The writing prompts here bore me a lot, and yet manage to yield stories and thoughts I love reading. So yeah, what do I know. 😀
