What do you stand for? (Prompt is courtesy of: Just Rojie)
I like it when people go through a door before you and then stop and hold the door open for you. I do the same for others. It was ingrained on my soul by my Dad. Even if they’re a bit behind me I just can’t let the door slam on them. Trouble is, if they notice they start to hurry or even run a bit and then I feel bad “don’t rush, I’m not in a hurry” I’ll say to them.
I admire those who give of themselves. Not necessarily money but their time, their talents, on a volunteer basis. Volunteers don’t get the recognition they deserve.
GO VOTE!! I believe strongly in this. We are so lucky to live in a democratic country yet people still couldn’t be bothered to walk five minutes to a polling station when an election day happens. Drives me crazy.
We have a lot of social issues here in Thompson and the surrounding communities but I think it’s important to always remember a human is a human is a human. Every person who finds themselves without a roof over their heads, food in the cupboards or with an addiction was once someone’s baby, once someone’s sweet little chubby cheeked toddler.
I have this thing about saving the unoccupied-really-close-to-the-entrance parking spots for people who might need them. Sometimes there are probably not enough designated ‘handicapped parking’ spots so I park further rather than closer to the entrance just in case someone needs that closer spot. Drives my kids nuts that I pass by a really good parking spot just to park further away. But they are young and full of ego. They’ll learn.
