I’ve been off this whole week as it’s spring break here and I planned to accomplish a million different things, mainly spring cleaning. Of course just regular old life gets in the way and the these past few days didn’t roll out the way I’d hoped.
I actually didn’t even get my supper dishes in the dishwasher last night. So much for being extra with the cleaning.
I did do something fun and out of the ordinary yesterday though. A few weeks ago my boss, the Dean of Health, sent an email to all the instructors asking if anyone would be interested in helping judge the science fair at one of our schools. It just happens to be the school where my three older kids went from K-8 and where Sid goes now to Kindergarten and Preschool. Plus it’s right across the street.
So I said sure, I’ll help out and conned another instructor to come with me. It was the best time! This sounds lame but last night I was thinking, when was the last time I had that much fun?!
My co-worker and I judged the grades 4-6 projects and they were all so impressive. The kids were excited, enthusiastic and gushed over all of the details of their science experiments and findings. I thoroughly enjoyed asking them questions about the hows and the whys.
Definitely will be volunteering to do that again next year. I think I discovered who will be Canada’s first female Prime Minister, she’s currently in grade 5. Plus one other kid told me I looked thirty! I love them!
