Hands up

What’s the number one regret you don’t want to have before you turn 60? 70? 80? (Thanks Rojie!)

The number one regret I hope to not have is a missed opportunity. Missed because I was too scared to jump on something before it was too late.

I still regret, nearly 37 years later, not putting my hand up at summer camp to let the counselors know I wanted to try waterskiing. I probably would have loved it, and even if I hadn’t, at least I could say I tried.

Taking a page from Mike at Moderate Living‘s book here and decided to show all of you what a ? spring day is like north of the 55th parallel. If I had a voice like Mike’s (well the female equivalent, purring like a cat, I’d have done a voice over but unfortunately my voice is awful and super nasally) Don’t worry, I was driving safely, hands at 2 and 10 🙂

Not sure of the video quality, this is going past the hospital yesterday
On the highway, just getting into town

CJ this is so cool! thank you for showing video of life where you are. i am, however, sorry that you are still putting up with snow! hopefully warmer weather is on the way! and of course, a voiceover from you would be great – you have a great voice just judging from your laugh when you had that vid of either Taz or Sid on the snowtube!

as for regrets, I totally agree with you. in my life I have concluded that in almost 8 times out of 10, it’s better to actually lose on your decision than to miss an opportunity for something to become extraordinary. if we could all, and I’m guilty of not doing this also, simply accept that rejection and disappointment is a major part of life we would be able to structure our risk taking appropriately! thanks again for the vid 🙂 Mike

  2. Oh god…I really feel for you. Truly. When does winter actually end where you are? Like when do you know for sure there’ll be no more snow?

    1. Lol your comment made me 😂
      It is crazy hey?!
See why i must live by the motto “bloom where you’re planted”?!
Most of the snow is gone mid-May but we do get the odd snowstorm in May and even June 😬
Ice is usually off the lakes by the end of May!
Even just 6 hrs south of here, which is sort of central Manitoba, where my parents ‘n sisters live, get quite a bit nicer weather than we do.

      1. Wow, that’s really something. I think you’re made of some serious metal! New Englanders (especially Mainers) like to refer to themselves as “hardy” but you’ve got them beat by a mile.

      2. Yes I’m pretty sure New England weather would feel like a tropical vacation!

  4. That much snow in April is insane. It reminds me of my time in northern New York, right on the border with Canada, I was freezing my butt off outdoors in June. 🥶 Nice, driving skills, by the way.

      3. Yes, and I still remember where I read You Will Not Have My Hate by Antoine Leiris, which I read in one sitting. I was crying so hard, and the story stayed in my mind for a few days.
