My people

When did you begin your WordPress journey, and how do you manage it day by day? Thank you Deepika, for the prompt!

I joined WP in January of 2024 but it was my first time blogging, like ever, so I was pretty naive and lost within the site itself.

I really didn’t know for what purpose I would use the platform. The articles I wrote in our local newspaper fit for the newspaper but I didn’t think they’d be well received in a land of complete strangers.

I saw the daily prompts but my foolish and apparently way-too-large-ego said pffft, I’ll never rely on writing prompts.

But I quickly realized I didn’t have enough original content. Was not an aficionado on food, fashion, travel, photography, pets, kids or anything.

So about three months after I joined WP, I jumped on the daily prompt bandwagon and here I am.

I like to write daily. It’s just a need that must be met. At the same time I don’t care about keeping streaks, I won’t put that pressure on myself or write just to keep a streak.

I used to keep a link to this site on my Instagram home page, and I used to share the posts on Pinterest but I stopped doing that because I really don’t want it “advertised” per se, I’d rather keep the audience to likeminded people on WP.

I truly love it here. You are my people.

This was at 10:40 pm last night, I LOVVVVVVE the long days but peep the pile of snow behind me in the backyard 🤨

  1. It’s interesting how writing prompts go from “I don’t need those” to becoming the very thing that unlocks consistency and voice. Glad you found your space here….and as it relates to the snow in the pic, I definitely cant relate as I have never seen snow myself…

  4. We set at about 9:30 these days. I really love it too, but it’s hard to talk myself into taking advantage of the double days like I should.

  5. My audience is only the WP people, too. No outsiders, and I like it. Looks like a beautiful night, CJ, and a lovely photo. A combination of original content and Daily prompt are fun to do.
