Dinner, a movie & a bag of cash

What’s something you’d love to be surprised with on a date?

This is a tough prompt for me, especially considering I’m 49 years old and probably never going on a date again. Clint and I never really “dated” even at the start of our relationship.

Going out for coffee was pretty much the extent of it.

But even when I was younger and single, I wasn’t much for grand gestures or even romance. I simply don’t believe in it. It’s foolishness. Dinner and a movie suits me just fine.

Anyyyyyyway, I woke up this morning and realized there are some good things happening in my life right now that get me excited. First, I got an offer on my house, the rental property. They low-balled me AF but I counter offered.

Second, someone called me last night to ask about the term position as Clinical Instructor for my program. This is amazing news because having to go out and do Clinical with my students is the least favourite part of my wonderful job. It’s not even that bad but if I could find someone else to do it, that would be perfectly perfect.

Third, the weather really is smartening up. I’ve gotten some sun the last few days as the temps have been in the high teens and they’re calling for daytime highs in the twenties next week.

Photo courtesy of: Paint Lake Lodge, this was yesterday! Clint planned to go ice fishing this weekend but doesn’t look like it will be safe, he was on there with the quad just one week ago ice fishing
Is there anything more stressful than keeping track of a 5 year old loose on a bike lol…lots of fresh air these past few days but can’t wait for things to “green up”

  1. Honestly, the difficulty of keeping young boys alive and out of the ER is underestimated. Bikes are scary at that age. Helmets on and fingers crossed. That’s all you can do.

    2. Ha! Once as a boy and male teenager who was a skater that is a correct assessment. Saved often from drowning (i loved the water, didn’t know how to swim until I got lessons at 6 years old) broken leg, strains, deep cuts. I am also clumsy.
This of course has followed me into adult hood. πŸ˜…

  2. glad to hear about the rental house development and the instructor news. it’s good to be on the concluding end of time when we’re waiting for stuff to happen – it’s just the waiting that makes it tough. and that goes for the weather too – i’m crossing my fingers for you that it’s nothing but clear blue skies from here on out!Mike

  3. My mom had to herd three little boys running around. How did she keep her sanity? My little sister was a godsend for her.
