All roads lead to…

How do you celebrate small wins?

(Prompt created by justrojie)

My default reward is, of course, food.

Small treats.

Some chocolate. An iced capp from Tim Horton’s, (made with chocolate milk not cream). Order pizza.

If I can find someone to tell, then I’ll verbally spill my small win. Usually it’s the kids in our group chat on Snapchat. Sometimes Clint, but honestly he’s not a great listener.

Yesterday the girls, the little boys (Taz is in California) and I drove an hour south of town to a place called Wabowden, population hmmmm…maybe 400. There a lady there who operates a greenhouse so we went there to buy flowers for planting. Also some tomatoes and lettuce.

We drove around the little town and stopped at the school playground so Sid could play and on the way home we stopped in at Paint Lake for lunch at the marina.

We also made a pit stop at Pisew Falls. It was such a nice day, hot but nice. Definitely won’t complain about the heat. The temp was 30 Celsius, so that’s about 86 F, although it was really humid so the feels like temps was more like 36.

  3. My first thougts were that you would tell your Mothers Group, you know, where all the gossip goes. But then I thought, well, maybe you aren’t in one! I know this is probably a strange and touchy topic, especially for a guy to bring up, but have you thought of joining one? Might be a bit of support for you, but as a nurse and experienced mother, you might be a great support for others too.

    Was just thinking…sorry if I over-reached.

    1. Rob of course you could never over reach, I appreciate the input! Yeah I’m not in a mom group at all, when I was a new mom I was though. I do have friends that I complain to, and who complain to me so that works well and is a source of comfort for sure ☺️

  5. I do a little dance. Sometimes hoot. And often send a thought of gratitide to whatever powers there be, even though I don’t know for sure that there are any or what they are.

  8. Little bits of nature, Baby RR already knows what’s important in life. Is that snow at Pisew Falls?
