Their guinea pig

What’s the grossest thing you’ve ever eaten?

The grossest thing that’s been in my mouth was not something I ate by choice. It was something put there by my older sister and her friend as I was their chosen “guinea pig” for their science fair experiment.

They were in grade six which would have made me grade five. Their project was all about the sense of taste and taste buds.

They blindfolded me and one by one, placed different foods and textures in my mouth to see if I could identify them.

That tablespoon full of molasses is something I’ll never forget. It came without warning, though they were probably giggling silently as they shoved it in my mouth.

Disgusting.

Cordelia & Baby RR had “Mommy & Me” photos done on the weekend to celebrate his 6 month birthday, which is actually today, I can’t believe we’ve been able to enjoy him and love him and watch him grow for this long! When they dropped him off January 26 it was supposed to be for one night lol

  1. I’m new to your blog, Missy, so please elaborate sometime: why was a baby dropped off for one night and left with you?

    1. Well four years ago I was at a crossroads with my work when Covid was dying out and the Covid swabbing clinic where i worked part time was closing, i decided to make the leap I’d always wanted to and use my spare time to become a foster parent. First we were lucky enough to get Sid (my son), then 18 mths, and now graduating kindergarten and i guess our name is still on file so the agency called me Jan 26 this year and said we really need someone to take a 6 wk old baby just for a night…i felt so bad for the tiny little guy so said yes…my daughter fell head over heels and they couldn’t find a more permanent home for him so we still have him 🩵

  4. Hahaha. I’m so thankful it wasn’t that you were served guinea pig! I almost didn’t read your post because I was afraid of the title, but since it’s you I had to.
