What’s the most awkward work scenario that’s happened to you? Thanks, Yankee Doodle for the prompt!
(I’m sad that I missed so many prompts when I was away so I’m going to recoup that now, in short form.)
The most awkward work scenario. Hmmm…if I gave this some thought I know I could come up with something but at the sake of thinking too hard so early, last night actually I dreamt that I was walking around work completely naked. For some reason it was only slightly daring. It seemed clothing was optional-ish?
Oh and just to be clear, I wasn’t in the classroom teaching naked, I was just in my cubicle and going back and forth to the photocopier and stuff. Weird.
Are you a sweet or savory kinda person? And why?
Sweet all the way. Why? I don’t know, I just could never get enough sugar, this stems all the way back to my childhood. I’d even steal the horses’ sugar cubes out of the barn just to have something sweet in my mouth.
Describe the last time you surprised yourself.
I really shocked the heck out of myself when I gave up sugar about a month ago. I mean, of course I fell off the wagon, but I did so good for a couple of weeks! I plan to do this again once I’m back into a regular routine.
What’s the best restaurant you’ve been to recently? What did you order?
Taz, Sid and I had lots of yummy things when we were in Winnipeg. The first night there we ordered from a place called Joey on Uber Eats. I had hummus/crispy pita bread and the tuna and avocado crunch roll. Both were amazing. I hate to say but the hummus was actually probably the best I’ve ever had.
On our last night in the city we went to a very bland looking restaurant inside of a mall. Never been there before and had never even heard of it. In my experience, eateries inside of malls aren’t that good. Food courts, okay, you know what you’re getting but the restaurant situated just beside the mall doors, nope, gross. Anyway we took a chance. The decor inside was underwhelming. We sat on the restaurant side as opposed to the lounge side. I think the place was trying to give off “pub” vibes but it was all very generic and boring inside.
I ordered the truffle and shrimp rigatoni. They brought out Sid’s meal and Taz’s appetizer quickly but then we waited for our main courses for forever. I was really not digging the vibe of this place and was annoyed that the food took so long.
But in a happy ending twist, my meal was to die for. The shrimp, the mushrooms, the creamy truffle sauce, it was all amazing and well worth the wait.
When you go on vacation, do you plan an itinerary or do you wing-it?
Completely wing it! While I might have a list in my head of what I want to see or do, I do not ever plan a schedule for it. Just go with the flow.
