Housekeeping

How long does it take for you to get ready to go out on a date or with your friends?

Because I don’t take the garbage out without eyeliner and lipstick on and appear to be high maintenance, this will be surprising, but it doesn’t take me long to get ready to go out.

I really do keep it simple. I mean, I do wear a full face of make-up so maybe that doesn’t seem simple but it only takes me about 10 minutes to slap it on.

I start my day with hair done so if I’m going out later then, well, my hair is already done.

We had a busy week here, Sid was in swimming lessons out at Paint Lake each day at 5:15 pm. The weather was awful. Cold, rainy. The one day it was only plus 13 degrees (55 degrees Fahrenheit).

He was such a trooper though and did amazing. He had never been in swimming lessons before so I started him at the first level and by the third lesson the instructor said she would recommend to bump him up like 3 or 4 levels for next year. So yay Sid!

Today, Sid and I are driving back down to Winnipeg. Cordelia, Taz and Baby RR are already there and we’re going to hangout with them and eat and shop. It’s a brutal nearly 800 km drive, but will be worth it.

I did book an AirBnB this time although I’ve really been off of AirBnB’s and back on the hotel bandwagon. I thought they were so cool a few years back but now it just seems like so much work. Cleaning up after yourself before you go, taking out the garbage, loading dishwasher, stripping bedding. That’s not a vacation.

But because we’re there with the baby, Cordelia wanted a full kitchen and a bit more room, which I understand.

I am bringing my laptop so I can keep up with reading/writing.

  2. that meme is so true lol. have a safe drive down with Sid.
the whole airbnb thing used to be cool indeed but after a few experiences with shady hosts, i just prefer a hotel or one of those dedicated efficiency suites that have kitchens. you and RR look so nice in that photo πŸ™‚

      1. oh no! really? for all the demands that owners have, isn’t it ironic that a lot of these units are disappointments? it doesn’t surprise me…but it also does.

  4. I think I’m whip-fast, ready in 20 minutes or half an hour at the most if starting from pyjamas or gardening clothes. Himself rolls his eyes and insists it takes me half a day. I don’t wear make-up or do anything with my hair beyond brushing it and tucking it behind my ears. Teeth brushed, face washed, moisturized face, and ready to roll!

I’m so jealous of people who don’t have to wear makeup!

  6. This little meme is so true! Last night I wanted ice cream but was already in pjs when my son said “Let’s go get some!” I told him I’m not yet at the point I would leave the house in pajamas, even if half the town seems to do so. haha But I’ve been intentionally not wearing make-up when I’m not working.
