How do you prioritize your life?
Our children are our most important work. Once all of their needs are met, it’s time to focus on the other things that need my attention. So I guess that’s pretty simple.
In other news, I hate myself for falling victim to the bottom half of a tub of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream last night. Ugh. I had violent dreams last night, because of it I’m sure.
Not only that, ten minutes after ingesting it, I experienced that sugar-induced drop in energy (and probably because I’d been up since 5 am), I fell asleep on the couch and woke up an hour later in a stupor, on the verge of drooling. It took everything in me to get up off the couch, turn off all the lights, wash my face and brush my teeth.
I know it sounds like I’m making a big deal over some ice cream but I have serious regrets. It’s 6:16 am and my stomach is hungry. Normally I fast from around 7 pm until noon the next day and it’s no biggie but because I ate last night so late (and it was ice cream), I’m already feeling the need to eat again. Let’s hope I can hold off for 6 more hours.
And I feel a bit jittery at the moment and I’m blaming that on Ben & Jerry too.
But damn it was good. It was the one with the fudgy ice cream in it and the cookie dough pieces, both chocolate chip cookie dough and peanut butter cookie dough. At the time and in those ten minutes, it was heavenly.
When I die and am cremated, I want someone to mix my remains in some cookie dough. Is that weird? Like don’t eat me but just let me stew in cookie dough.
I’m going to read that later and want to edit it out.
