Nesting

What are your plans for Labor Day?

Labour Day was yesterday. It was just Sid and I for most of the day. Taz, Cordelia and Baby RR are making their way home from down south but won’t get back until today. Clint took a couple of friends fishing yesterday, which I was totally fine with.

Yesterday felt like a bonus Sunday, which, I guess it is. I stripped the bedding in the bedroom downstairs and tidied it up a bit. Bella-Lena had claimed that room all summer but now that she’s gone back to Winnipeg for university, when Taz comes home, he will use that bedrooom, (it was originally his anyway).

Sid and I spent some time outside, although it was kind of windy, it was also blue sky sunny all day.

From about 3 pm on, I spend the rest of the day in the kitchen. I made lazy cabbage rolls, (which involves cooking a cabbage, some rice, bacon, ground beef), I cut up and cooked some zucchini in the airfryer. Put a ham in the oven. And cooked some perogies. It was delicious and well worth the effort

Then I did the dishes, got Sid to bed and went to bed myself.

Today is the first day of classes for my students. I think I have eight students this term. I did meet them Thursday at the orientation but I will get to know them better over the next five months. I’m a tad nervous but also excited to get the ball rolling and turn them into Healthcare Aides.

On this day in 2024, Sid just chillin’
