Tongue twister

Do you tend to forgive and forget, or just forgive but not forget… or neither?

That’s a toughy.

I’d like to say that I’m someone who forgives and forgets but I feel like I’m more of a forgive and don’t forget but then if you’re not forgetting and are actually hanging onto it, are you really forgiving?

Good question.

  1. Good one…I like to fancy that I forgive and forget…but fully forgetting is almost impossible…so a follow up question could be…what happens when you recall? neutral reaction or rage?

    1. Yesss very true JD! That would help to decipher whether you’ve forgiven or not.

  3. I’ve wondered at this myself–sometimes I really do forget about ways that people have hurt me, but then I’ll be reminded (maybe years later), and I struggle again with the hurt and resentment.

    1. Yep i know what you mean Joe. I’d love to say that I forgive and forget (and with little things it’s easy) but just the other day I was thinking about the person who was, at one time, my best best friend in the whole world who I lost to my divorce and under my breath I said “bitch” 😳
Kind of surprised myself that I’d speak that way about her. So yeah, clearly all is not forgiven.
