Oh boy. I deleted Instagram over a month ago so I really went through a meme withdraw. I love memes. Like who created memes? They weren’t a thing twenty years ago, were they?

Even though I no longer work as a nurse, nursing or healthcare related memes were the best! When I worked at the personal care home, I plastered the walls inside the med room with memes about healthcare. I feel like it’s good for morale, to be able to laugh about what we were doing. The work was hard and a couple of chuckles definitely lightens the load.

I feel like these were some of the OG memes, kind of out of fashion now though
I love the cynicism and of course they were relatable.

    memes were such genius ways of conveying the message across. but what struck me about them was that they were used on top of already existing media. it goes to show how developed our world became because the type of meme’ing we do can’t easily be replicated by other cultures with less foundational media to use. in many ways, we are deriving a meta sense of ourselves from sources that were already meta.

    and to top it off, it was legitimately funny 😂
