Tightrope

If you became very wealthy after living a life, like most of us, from paycheque to paycheque, in what ways would you help your family and friends financially? Thank you, Fairweather Walker for the prompt!

The problem is, I would never want my kids to think that happiness comes from having money. So there would be a fine balance between enjoying ridiculous amounts of money and having a good work ethic and living by values.

Lots can go wrong when lots of money is involved. I don’t know, it would be a tricky tightrope to walk. A little trust fund would be nice but I’d want them to do something productive with their lives. If not work, then dedicate every single day to a charity or volunteering at something to making other people’s lives better.

For my parents and my sisters, that’s a different story. They’ve worked hard and understand the value of a dollar. They’ve been smart with the money they earned. Any debts they still carried of course I would pay off. Plus I’d like to buy them anything to make life easier.

Mostly, I’d like to give money and things to people who have nothing or barely anything.

This is the crap I buy when it’s late at night & all it takes is double-clicking the side button of my phone to make the purchase, like who doesn’t need an area rug mouse pad?!

  2. Some valid points there CJ and not dissimilar to what I’d do.
I always said the first thing I would do if I won loads of money is escape somewhere for a month while I decide what to do with it. I quite like the idea of giving money to people anonymously that I know would help them out.
My husband would expect some fancy car but I’ve always told him that is a waste of money ! 😊

  3. It’s something I’ve thought a lot about. I’d rather give a lot of money away to others who need it, than allow it to ruin children with spoilage.
