The horror of it

Daily writing prompt
What’s the weirdest movie you’ve ever watched?

If I start watching a movie and find myself saying “this movie is weird”, I’m shutting it off. I have no time for weird movies. Like weird in the way that I’m not getting the gyst.

Someone else mentioned Pulp Fiction and I think, from what I remember, that I also thought it was weird and didn’t really understand the hype. But also I was in high school and maybe my teenage brain couldn’t see the big picture, (not literally, my eyes were fine).

Monster: The Ed Gein Story on Netflix was definitely weird but somehow I couldn’t not finish it. It was fascinatingly, creepily weird. I don’t mean fascinating in a good way, horrible things happened to those girls, but how a person’s mind can allow them to do such things is…gripping.

Something cheery, Baby RR…Cordelia sent this to me last week when they were getting ready for work/daycare, he’s almost ten months & now crawling & pulling himself up to stand! ❤️
Something not so cheery, SNOW today!!

  1. Makes somehow sense, if you’re in Canada? Do you usually get snow in October already?

    1. Yes we often get snow in October, usually we don’t get “snow that stays” til closer to Halloween though! I’m really hoping this snow today melts as it hits the ground!

      1. Yeah, I see!

I’m in Europe, we usually don’t get snow until November earliest, it’s not always staying, tho

      3. Kind of depends on how you see it. It’s fall on our end right now, and the last few years, that’s been the time were we got it all back in heavy rains whenever the (pre-)summer – and eventually spring – were too dry 🥲

      4. Oh yeah rain can be a real drag lol, sometimes light fluffy pretty snow would be better I guess!

    1. Did it stay? Or melt?

  4. Most of the time, it melted. Once it came in November, it stayed. Not every year but it does happen even in the southern part of the state.

  6. I saw Pulp Fiction in the theater and I hated it. But everyone loved it so much that a couple of years later I watched it on DVD and I hated it again. The weird thing about the movie though was even though I hated it I still watched it. Sort of wish I would have thought of this movie to answer the prompt today. Enjoy the snow!

    1. It got sooo much hype and I’ll never understand why!
Won’t enjoy the snow Michael lol, it’s way too soon!

  7. Pulp Fiction was definitely weird but I liked it…I understood the director. Kill Bill was weird. My favorite is Momento… about the guy who solved a crime with no functional memory. Definitely one of a kind.😊👍

  8. SNOW?! Sigh. But this photo, wow. He’s looking so much more grown up!

I enjoyed Pulp Fiction more when I watched it years after it was all the rage. The first time I felt exactly that way (“What’s the big deal?”), and still don’t think it quite deserved its cult status.
