Ride off into the sunset

What is a quality you like the most in a man? Woman? Them?

I really enjoy friendly people.

My Dad always drilled that into our heads, be friendly! Don’t be snobby! I know I’ve said this here before but I think that’s how I ended up with that stalker in 2014.

Also, funnnnny people are such a treat to be around. I feel like there are fewer funny people these days. Is it just me? Is that true?

Not to get all “me too” movement on everybody this morning but I really appreciate it when a man gives a compliment that doesn’t feel creepy. Ladies, you know what I mean.

For example, certain male coworkers might say “I like that dress” or “that looks nice”, something of the sort and it’s like wow, they just pulled off giving a compliment in an absolutely not creepy way. I think when someone is being genuine, it just comes through.

I was thinking, ooh maybe it’s hard to be a man and worry about how a compliment to a woman will sound, maybe some just don’t bother but I guess I’d better watch how my compliments sound as well because I do compliment (both men and women).

In other news I’m back to black coffee this am and will fast until lunchtime. I really need to get back on the NO SUGAR wagon and ride off into the sunset on it.

I haven’t posted a selfie in a while but honestly I’m not a fan of my hair colour right now, my next appointment isn’t until Oct 27…so she was trying out the grey-blending thing but nope, I don’t want it, I want colour put on top of the grey

  1. i hear you on that point. i don’t understand people that are antisocial. it’s like: “ok, if you want to be sullen like that, then get your groceries delivered and do your errands in the morning when no one can see your nasty self”
i was laughing at this thought but then – I realized…that’s me. lol ;D

but i am friendly though! friendliness and being cooperative to a healthy degree is important – i’m totally with Dad on that point.

  2. I think a lot of this is due to recent history where everyone one is offended by everything.

    1. Yes, true! Although Iโ€™m happy in some ways that we donโ€™t put up with some of the stuff we used to!

  4. I think (hope) the key to giving a non-creepy compliment is not to make a big production out of itโ€”to say, for example, โ€œthatโ€™s a pretty scarfโ€ without having it sound like a pickup line. Of course, sometimes the complimenter *wants* it to be a pickup line, and then it can get creepy fast if thatโ€™s not what the recipient wants.

    1. Or the recipient wants it to be a pickup line and it wasnโ€™t lol, thatโ€™s even worse ๐Ÿคญ

      1. Ohโ€ฆthose situations often have a way of working themselves outโ€ฆ

Itโ€™s always possible to turn up the heat a bit on the compliments if the vibes appear. โ€œI like your scarfโ€ is just the openerโ€ฆ

  6. I’m friendly with everyone, including strangers, and that may be largely because of being raised in small rural communities. Or maybe it’s just my nature, or the fact that I’ve rarely had a frighteningly negative experience with anyone. But my friendliness has made some men think I’m available when that’s the last thing on my mind. I think over the years it’s the reason why some have fallen in love with me, too.

Having it attract a stalker must have been terrible!

  8. CJ, youโ€™re a good egg. Most of the women I worked with were friends and if I ever commented on a new hairstyle or dress or whatever, none ever got offended. Iโ€™d like to think I never gave off the creepy vibe ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜Ž

  10. I love friendly people too. They bring out the ‘puppy’ in my personality and it’s just nice energy to be together. ๐Ÿ™‚ We’re def. on a parallel hair journey, CJ. I’m trying to get that right balance of grey/blonde and it’s certainly not easy! If I part my hair in the middle, I look more grey, and if on the side, more blonde. Don’t think either of us are ready for all grey, but you’re always pretty.

    1. Oh! And yes it’s a funny thing to write about because there aren’t clear lines, but for me it’s usually that the guy who is already a creep in other ways might come off creepy, and vice versa!

      1. That is true! Itโ€™s funny to me how some guys can pull it off so well, giving out compliments, and itโ€™s just so nice and friendly but then the next guy does it and itโ€™s like ughhh go away!
